The University of the District of Columbia Voice Care Clinic has the expertise to help you improve communication as part of your gender transition. Services are FREE OF COST and tailored to your need to find a voice that matches your authentic self.
Graduate student-clinicians under the supervision of state licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologists will guide you in individual 60-min sessions once a week.
These therapy sessions will help you
1. learn to take care of your voice and keep healthy
2. Discover and practice features of speech and communication that can make a difference in voice transition
3. explore the limits of your voice using state of the art visual feedback programs and apps
When you are ready, group sessions may be scheduled so that you can test your new voice and communication skills in a safe, supportive environment.
